MotionCare Volunteers

We are at it again!  Kris and Erin are assisting in the finish line medical tent while Jim and Levi keep the finish line safe.  MotionCare believes that volunteering is a huge part of being a well-rounded physical therapist.  Runners – good luck & we hope to see some familiar faces crossing that finish line!

Here’s why we volunteer:  (Give)

  1.  It’s good for your health
    • Studies have found that when you stop thinking about your own problems and focus on someone other than yourself, your stress levels start to decrease, your immune system is strengthened, and your overall sense of life satisfaction increases. This is because helping someone else interrupts tension-producing patterns and replaces it with a sense of purpose, positive emotions and high confidence levels
  2. Career Booster
    • It helps you create a positive impression, makes you more innovative, creative and gives you a range of useful skills – MotionCare PT’s are pushed to be better.
  3. Learn New Skills
    • You are faced with problems daily, you must deal with a mix of personalities and all while adjusting to life outside of your comfort zone. This all adds up and helps to improve your teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and people skills.
  4. Real-World Experience
    • Just that simple
  5. Make a Difference
    • Gives you the chance to vote every day about the kind of community and world you want to live in. It gives you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself and use your civic responsibility for the greater good. Without people who are willing to sacrifice their time and skills to meaningful causes, a lot more people and animals would be worse off.
  6. Change someone’s life
    • A simple hand hold to assisting in major medical situations is impacting not only the individual, but all others involved.  You may even influence the individual to want to volunteer too!
  7. Opportunity to travel
    • You get out of your routine and surround yourself with other views and environments.  There are no limits here.  Jim, Erin and Kris have traveled the world with volunteer opportunity.
  8. Make real connections
    • This is your chance to meet sooooooo many people!  Expand your network, enjoy people AND learn from them.  Most definitively, others are learning, connecting and interested in you.
  9. Learn
    • This opens up our eyes, boots our brain power and opening yourself up to aiding your self-discovery.  We gain a new perspective in how others operate, and that there are multiple ways to success.  You explore a host of new experiences and gain new memories.
  10. Fun/Laughter/Get inspired
    • Volunteering gives back as much as you give!  Have fun, laugh, enjoy, meet people, feel good and feel motivated to do better in life!
